**Three Septic and Sewer Jobs, Explained in Plain Words**
Bowvice Septic links homeowners in the Kansas City area with independent local providers. We do not do the work. The provider does. Here are the three services you can ask about.
Septic tank pumping removes the sludge and scum that build up in your tank. (Sludge is the thick waste that settles at the bottom.) Most homes need it every few years. Typical cost: about $300 to $700.
Septic system repair fixes parts that fail, like baffles, pumps, or the drainfield. (The drainfield is the soil area where tank water drains out.) Drainfield repair can run from a few hundred dollars to many thousands.
Sewer line repair fixes the pipe that carries waste from your house to the street or the tank. Costs often run from about $1,000 to $5,000 or more.
Some providers also offer water well service. Ask if you need it.
Price follows the job. Ask for it in writing.
